What is supported living?

Supported living is a service designed to help individuals live as independently as possible, while receiving the support they need to thrive. At Ascending Heights, we provide person-centred support for people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, and other support requirements — empowering them to live full, meaningful lives in their own homes.

Unlike traditional residential care, supported living gives individuals the freedom of their own tenancy, along with flexible support tailored to their personal goals and daily needs. This might include help with everyday tasks, personal care, managing money, accessing healthcare, or building essential life skills.

Supported living is about more than just day-to-day support — it’s about encouraging independence, building confidence, and creating a clear pathway toward greater autonomy. We work closely with each person to help them achieve their aspirations, no matter how big or small.

Just as importantly, supported living helps people connect with their communities. Whether it’s through volunteering, employment opportunities, social activities, or education, we actively support individuals to build relationships, pursue interests, and find their place in society.

At Ascending Heights, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, independence, and purpose — and supported living helps make that a reality.
